Inequalities: Focusing on change
A slider which changed the values of a between -2 and 2, and in turn varies the other terms.
This can be used from GCSE - Alevel.
Can serve either as an introduction to inequalities OR to rate of change
Questions that can be asked:
- What do we expect to happen when the slider is changed?
- What do we expect to happen when the slider is moved to the right?
- Is it possible to have more than one of a, a^2, a^3, ... etc, line up all at once?
- Which of these is changing the quickest, and when? Why?
