Concept of congruence

Task

Create two triangles and check if both figures are congruent or not. Explore the construction and learn how to check with Geometry in GeoGebra Calculator Suite if two figures are congruent or not. Then try it yourself by following the instructions below.

Instructions

1.Open the Settings, select Show Grid and choose Major and Minor Gridlines. Note: In the Mobile App select Grid Type before you can choose Major and Minor Gridlines.
2.Toolbar ImageCreate two triangles next to each other.
3.Toolbar ImageUse the Move tool to select one of the vertices and change its style.
4.Toolbar ImageUse the Copy Visual Style tool to select the previously changed vertice and copy it's style to the other vertices by selecting them. Hint: Choose the Move tool to leave.
5.Switch to the Algebra View. Type (, "Congruent", "Not congruent") into the Input Bar to check if the triangles are congruent. If they are congruent the shown text will be Congruent.
6.Switch back to the Tools View.
7.Toolbar ImageChange the style of the text.
8.Toolbar ImageMove the corners to obtain two congruent triangles.
Note: If you're using the Online App or Desktop App you can do alternative steps instead of steps 6, 7 and 8: First create the boolean value congruent using the command . Type into the Input Bar. Then switch back to the Tools View and create a text. On the dialog select Advanced and then  GeoGebra and select the variable congruent. Press OK to confirm.
