First Pythagorean Theorem Proof

Task

For this task, you will be exploring one visual proof of the Pythagorean Theorem discovered by Bhaskara in the 12th century. On your paper, write down the expressions and equations that you use in terms of a, b, and c. Assume that the triangles are right triangles and assume the quadrilateral with side length c is a square. Make sure that what you write down in your proof is clear and is able to be read and understood by another. Hint: Start by arranging the polygons into a larger square and determine its area in terms of a, b, and/or c!
