To evaluate 5827 x 325, note how (in the pic) we decomposed 5,827 as "5000 + 800 + 20 + 7" in the top row. Then we decomposed 325 as "300 + 20 + 5" on the left side. We then filled in the areas and then added these areas to get the final product!

Decompose the 4-digit number into thousands, hundreds, tens, and ones in the top row. Then decompose the 3-digit number into hundreds, tens, and ones on the left side. Then find the areas of each rectangle and add them up to get the final product!
