His motto is "learning happens when you see the unseen in every child" The biggest change he has seen in his work is that the children really enjoy coming to school. They feel it is a safe environment where they can be themselves. In a society, where many parents are very focused on their own careers. Jukka has been able to involve them and their children in a project that considers the children from a holistic perspective. They have looked at and explored the importance of a healthy lifestyle, which includes: activity, relaxation, recovery, sleep/regular bedtime, nutrition, developing strong family bonds and good relationships with others. Jukka Sinnemäki is the founder of the KnowNow-key and the cycle-model teaching. KnowNow is an innovative device and analytic method called Knownow-Key. This method is fusing big data with children-centered pedagogy to measure physical, social and emotional needs by objective and subjective means, through a band-style tracker. Knownow-Key ́s pedagogical areas: 1. Learning well-being (autonomy) 2. Leading well-being (competence) 3. Well-being environments (relatedness). Using this innovation school grades has increased, motivation toward school is higher, students feel passionate towards schooling and learning, class spirit is better, less bullying and children are able to concentrate and they are much more patient and persistent. Jukka was the top 50 finalist at the Global Teacher Prize in 2018, Dubai. 2019 he won the Global Teacher Award in New Delhi, India. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sk4PjGkYImw&t=63s CONTACT: jukka.sinnemaki@gmail.com https://www.facebook.com/jukka.sinnemaki https://twitter.com/JukkaSinnemaki
Keynote with Jukka Sinnemäki (Thursday, 12:30 – 13:30)
How does knowledge change into action so that the learning process can begin?
Learning motivation, concentration, social relationships and their impact on learning outcomes. At the heart of everything is to seek a state of well-being where the child can see his / her own abilities and cope with life's challenges and work with members of different communities. The child learns to lead his / her well-being and learning with the help of objective and subjective measurement, but the focus is on learning processes and the pedagogical model.
