Sultan Han - layers

Sultan Han is a big 13th century caravanserai in Sultanhani, near Aksaray - Turkey. On the left you can see the muqarnas above the entrance gate from below. On the right you can see a schematic drawing of these muqarnas. The thick lines in the drawing mark the tiers in the construction. With the checkbox you can show them in colors in the photograph and the drawing. The photograph comes from the dissertation of Silvia Harmsen. The drawing comes from the unsurpassed website of Shiro Takahashi.
Below you can see a front view of the entrance gate on which the different layers are easy to distinguish.
