On the iwans on the inner court you can find panels with geometric patterns.
The panel below is generated by a tiling of dodecagons, octagons and ties.
In Khiva patterns are realised patronen on individual tiles which size is indipendent of the pattern. That's why the tiles were numbered.
In this pattern you can clearly see that the individual polygons generated by the line, are fabricated separately and later arranged as a mozaic.
