Copie de Banked Turn Simulation
This is a simulation made to demonstrate the forces involved while a car is accelerating around a banked turn--not including frictional force of air resistance or drag. I made this originally because I couldn't find a good explanation of why the normal force in a banked curve problem was larger than the normal force in an inclined plane. Since Newton's third law tells us that normal forces are reactive forces, we know that if the normal force is larger in a different scenario, it is because more forces are being applied against the ground.
This is my first Geogebra app/script, so please ignore the poor design. Hopefully this benefits someone.
1. Can you determine what the bottom three equations in the left hand corner mean and when they are true?
2. Can you find out how the equation for the max and min speed of a car going around a banked turn was derived?
