Introduction to Geogebra (Transformations)
Explore 1: Translations
- Draw a Triangle using “Rigid Polygon.” Make this grey.
 - Draw a vector that will translate figures down and to the left.
 - Draw another vector that will translate figures horizontally.
 - Translate the original triangle using the first vector. Make this green.
 - Translate the original triangle using the second vector. Make this blue.
 - Choose someone in class. Bring your file over to them. Show them and ask them to identify and describe to you what you did.

Explore 2: Reflections
- Draw a Quadrilateral (4 sides) using “Rigid Polygon.” Make this grey.
 - Draw a vertical line.
 - Reflect the figure over the line.

- Draw a pentagon (five sides) using “Rigid Polygon.” Make this blue.
 - Draw a horizontal line.
 - Reflect the figure over the line.

- Draw a third figure using “Rigid Polygon.” Make this red.
 - Draw a line with a positive slope.
 - Reflect the figure over the line.
 - Choose someone else in class. Bring your file over to them. Show them and ask them to identify and describe to you what you did.

Explore 3: Rotations
- Draw a pentagon using “Rigid Polygon.” Make this purple.
 - Draw a point.
 - Rotate the figure 90 degrees CCW about that point.
 - Rotate the figure 74 degrees CW about that point.
 - Choose someone else in class. Bring your file over to them. Show them and ask them to identify and describe to you what you did.
