Bio

Pilar Forero Taylor, M.Ed., Ph.D, is a passionate educator who has impacted STEM education and student learning and the Director of the Stiles-Nicholson STEM Teacher Academy (SNSTA) for FAU/FAU Lab Schools within the College of Education. A native of Bogota, Colombia, Pilar was an English language learner in the US, inspired by dedicated teachers, which paved her transition from a successful international marketing career into education. She holds a B.S. in Business Management and an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from Florida Atlantic University (FAU), where she is also earning her Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction by the Fall 2023. With over 21 years in education, Pilar has held key roles, including being a math teacher, math curriculum coordinator, educational technology trainer, and cross country/track coach. Notably, she oversaw academic achievement at Florida Atlantic University’s on-site lab school, A.D. Henderson University School and FAU High School (ADHUS/FAUHS) and initiated the Henderson Scholars Program, accelerating middle school students' academic foundation. Pilar is a member of Leadership Palm Beach County's Engage Class of 2024; a highly selective and immersive professional-development experience immersing participants through important aspects within Palm Beach County.
