Construct an Equilateral Triangle
Sitting Cats
Margie has heard that cats in a room position themselves at equal distances from one another and wants to test that theory.
Margie notices that Simon, her tabby cat, is in the center of her bed (at S), while JoJo, her Siamese, is lying on her desk chair (at J).
If the theory is true, where will she find Mack, her calico cat?
Use the scale drawing of Margie’s room. Place an M where Mack will be if the theory is true.

#2 - Using the steps shown below, construct an equilateral triangle.
Use these steps for constructing an equilateral triangle:
1) Begin with two points A and B.
2) Construct a CIRCLE with radius AB centered at A.
3) Next, construct a CIRCLE with radius AB centered at B.
4) Then, mark a POINT C at the intersection of the two circles.
5) Finally, connect the points A, B, and C with the SEGMENT tool.
#3 - Triangle ABC is shown below. Is it an equilateral triangle? Justify your response in the box below.
Is the triangle above an equilateral triangle? Why or why not?
