Version B Grade 7 - Transformations Test

Hello class! Please read all the instructions and questions fully before answering them and answer each question to the best of your ability. Do NOT leave anything blank! *To make transformations like rotations, reflections, or dilations on GeoGebra, click the third icon from the right on the toolbar and click the appropriate transformation. First click either the point or the line that will move, then click where that transformation will occur (i.e. about the origin, off the x-axis, etc.). If necessary, fill in the rest of the information and make sure you are following the directions from the question. You've got this! Good luck!

1. A triangle needs to be put on the cartesian plane below. The locations for each of the vertices are as follows: A (-5, 3), B (-3, 3) and C (-3, 1). Show me where this is supposed to be on the cartesian plane.

2. Below is figure 1.

What are the coordinates of triangle ABC? (Make sure to use proper notation!)

3. Triangle DEF shifts 4 units to the right and 3 units down. Place triangle D'E'F' at the new location based on the translation.

3. b) What are the new coordinates for D'E'F'?

4. a) If line AB is reflected off the x-axis, where will the image be?

4. b) What are the coordinates for A'B' if the line is reflected off the X-AXIS?

Type the answer in the space below. Options: A' (-1, -1), B' (1, 3) A' (1, -1), B' (1, 3) A' (-1, 1), B' (-1, 3) A' (-1, -1), B' (1, -3)

4. c) What are the coordinates for line A'B' if the line is reflected off the Y-AXIS?

Type the answer in the space below. Options: A' (-1, -1), B' (1, -3) A' (1, 1), B' (-1, 3) A' (-1, 1), B' (1, -3) A' (1, -1), B' (1, 3)

5. Point A rotates about the origin 90 degrees COUNTER CLOCKWISE. Where will point A' be located? (Show on this cartesian plane.)

5. a) What are the coordinates of A' after the rotation?

6. Line DE rotates about the origin 90 degrees clockwise.

6. a) What are the coordinates for line D'E'?

This is a blank note that you can use to show your work for 6.

7. I want to make a similar triangle to PQR that has a scale factor of 2.

What are the side lengths of the enlarged image? Show me how you get your response.

This is a blank note that you can use to show your work for 7.
