For right skewed data the 75th Percentile should be further away from the median that 25th Percentile. For left skewed data the 75th percentile should be closer to the median than the 25th percentile

For histograms with a dip in the centre they have a large middle 50 % (interquartile range). If the histogram is symmetrical then then the middle 50% of the boxplot will be symmetrical.
