More Constructions

Today we are working to understand more constructions. We will be working to: Construct an Equilateral triangle Construct a Perpendicular Bisector/Midpoint of a line segment Construct an Angle Bisector Construct a Line parallel to a line through a point not on the line And if there is time: Construct a Line perpendicular to a line through a given point

Equilateral Triangle

How do you know that you constructed a triangle that is equilateral? (Equilateral means that all of the sides are congruent.)

Perpendicular Bisector or Midpoint

How do you know that you have constructed a line that is perpendicular? How do you know that the point of intersection is the midpoint?

Angle Bisector

How do you know that you have created an angle bisector?

Parallel Line

How do you know that the line you have constructed is parallel to the original line?

Perpendicular line

How do you know that the line you constructed is perpendicular to the original line?

What are some important ideas/repeated constructions that you have used that you want to remember?
