Construct an Angle Bisector

Given Construct: The perpendicular bisector of General notes:
  • Draw an arc = use compass
  • With the same radius = use compass
  • If lines or curves intersect = use intersect tool to label that point
Procedure: 1. Open your textbook to page 380. Follow the directions for construction 4. Your point will be named differently (C and D instead of X and Y); that's okay. 2. Finished? use the angle measure tool to confirm that you have constructed perpendicular segments. Use the distance or length tool to confirm that you have created a segment bisector. Remember:
  • Given info: red
  • Arcs utilized in construction: green
  • The final construction: blue
