BPW Inv 4.3E Checking Similarity with Transformations
If you have been assigned a book, open your Butterflies, Pinwheels and Wallpaper book, do the dilation instructed on Inv 4.3 Checking Similarity with Transformations
- Create a line of your choice with line tool
and go to 
to find slope tool 
to label its slope (with a slope other than 0 or undefined) - Use point on object tool
(found under point tab 
) to make 3 - 4 points on your new line. - Make 3 different sized right triangles using the points on your line as their hypotenuse (longest side).
- SHOW using dilation that the triangles are similar. You may use area tool
, angles tool and/or lengths tool 
to find ratio of sides. Screenshot this into your Google Doc. - EXPLAIN how you know these triangle are similar in your Google Doc. Refer to your measurements.
- How can you use the similar triangles to explain why the slopes are equivalent?
