Multiplying 4-Digit by 4-Digit Numbers Using an Area Model

To evaluate 7723 x 4472, note how (in the pic) we decomposed 7723 as "7000 + 700 + 20 + 3" in the top row. Then we decomposed 4472 as "4000 + 400 + 70 + 2" on the left side. We then filled in the areas and then added these areas to get the final product!
