Activity #17__ the 'Angle with Given Size' tool

Activity Goal:

Explore how to create one or more angles by using the Angle with Given Size tool. See below for directions.

Directions:

Activity #1 1. Under Line Tools, construct a ray (starting at A and passing through point B).   2. Under Measure Tools, select Angle with Size tool. 3. Click point B, and then Point A . 4. After angle box opens up, enter 70 degrees and click counterclockwise. 5. If you can't see point B' (3rd point), use the Move tool to move point B closer to A. 6. Construct another ray AB' (starting at A and passing through B' ). 7. Describe what you have constructed. Activity #2 8. Use the undo arrow to back up steps until you just have the ray AB ( with points A and B). 9. Select Angle with Size tool. 10. Click Point B and then A. 11. Enter 70 degrees and click clockwise. 12. Construct another ray AB' 12. Explain what how angle A is different from Activity #1. Activity #3 13. Undo your last step so that you have the ray AB. 14. Select Angle with Size tool. 15. Click Point A and then B. 16. Enter 70 degrees and counterclockwise. 17. Construct another ray BA'. 18. Explain how this new angle is different from the others . Activity # 4 19. Same as in Activity #3 but instead of choosing counterclockwise, choose clockwise. 20. Explain how this new angle is different from the others . Activity # 5 21. Undo your last step so that you have the ray AB. 22. Select Angle with Size tool. 23. Click point B, and then Point A . 24. Enter 70 degrees and counterclockwise. 25. Construct another ray AB'. 26. Select Angle with Size tool. 27. Click Point A and then B. 28. Enter 35 degrees and clockwise. 29. Create another ray BA'. 30. Explain what you have constructed . Activity # 6 31.
