Group Activity: Graph of a Linear Equation

In this Activity, you are going to learn about the trend/behavior of the graph by dragging the slider tool to investigate its effect to the graph of linear equation y=mx + b. Objectives: At the end of this activity, you will be able to describe the graph of a linear equations in terms of its intercepts and slope. Questions for Discussion: 1.) Drag the slope slider from left to right and vice versa. What happens to the graph? 2.) What is the trend/behavior of the graph when its slope (m) is: a.) positive? b.) negative? c.) zero? 3.) Drag the slope(m) slider and y-intercept(b) slider from left to right and vice versa. What did you observe to the graph? 4.) What happens to the graph when the value of slope and y-intercept (b) increases? decreases? become zero? 5.) What can you say about the x-and intercept when the slope is positive? negative? zero? 6.) Based on your observation as you move the slope(m) slider, which graph of a linear equation is steeper?
