B1 Properties of substances

Theory

Chemistry is focused on materials the world is made of and their reactions. It is important to distinguish between different substances.

What do you need?

Salt, sugar, citric acid (solid), (backing) soda (or backing powder), flour (or starch)

What do you have to do?

Pour out a little bit of every substance and look at them closely. All of them are white crystalline substances, but they differ slightly. One way to distinguish between them easily is by their taste! Taste a tiny bit off all of the substances - not to much or you will feel ill - and assign the correct taste to them.
The different substances look similar.
The different substances look similar.

Assign the correct tastes by drag and drop.
