CAS and Graphics View

You can combine the functionality of the CAS View with the graphing capabilities of the Graphics View. Note: Depending on which of the Views is activated, either the Graphics View Toolbar or the CAS View Toolbar are shown at the top of the app.

Task

Combine the CAS View and the Graphics View by following the instructions below.

Instructions

1.Toolbar ImageEnter the linear equation y = 2 x + 1 into the first row of the CAS View and press the Enter key.
2.Toolbar ImageDisplay the equation as a line by clicking on the disabled Visibility button next to the equation.
3.Toolbar Image Click anywhere in the Graphics View to show the Graphics View Toolbar.
4. Toolbar Image Select the Move tool and select the line. Click on the Style Bar and select to unfix the function and to be able to drag the function in the  Graphics ViewNote: The  CAS View always shows the current equation of the line.

5.Toolbar ImageActivate the Point tool. Click at the coordinates (2, 1) to create a point A.
6.Toolbar ImageIn the CAS View, enter A into the next row to show the point's coordinates.
7.Toolbar Image Activate the Perpendicular Line tool from the Graphics View Toolbar. Successively select the line and point A to create a perpendicular line g.
8.Toolbar ImageEnter g in the next row of the CAS View and press the Enter key. Note: The equation of the perpendicular line g is now displayed in the CAS View.
9. Toolbar Image Select the Move tool from the Graphics View Toolbar and drag point A.  Note: The equation of line g adapts to your changes.
