Overview about the attributes of the game
General information about Logifaces
Logifaces is a 3D surface game. The goal of the game is to create a continuous surface with the blocks.
The Logifaces game contains different blocks. Each block can be identified by its three heights at its vertices.
The quest is in 2D, the solution is in 3D.
These heights can be 1,2 or 3 units and the blocks are identified as block 111, 133, 123, etc.
The number of the possible combinations for the vertice heights is 11. The blocks are identified with the codes referring to their 3 vertices, such as 111, 112, 122, 113, 133, 222, 223, 233, 333, 123, 132.
There are two types of Logifaces sets, the beginner and the original Set.
- The beginner Set contains 9 blocks.
- The original Set contains 16 blocks.
There are endless variations of the solutions. Forms can be built up based on a given plan or can be built freely.
There are two solutions for the triangle shape with the Beginner Set. Regarding the Original Set, there are 22 solutions, and 4942 solutions with 25 blocks.
Blocks can be distinguished by their form. There are horizontal blocks (111, 222, 333), sloping blocks (112, 122, 113, 133, 223, 233) and twisted blocks (123, 132).
The top faces of the horizontal blocks are equilateral triangles and the vertical faces are rectangles.
The top faces of the slope blocks are isoscale triangles and there are two vertical trapezoid faces and one
rectangle.
The top faces of the twisted blocks are isoscale triangles and the vertical faces are trapeziums.
The blocks can be paired in a triangular prism shape. Pairing the horizontal blocks is obvious. The sloping blocks can be paired with any of the blocks have a slope with the opposite direction. For instance, 112 can be paired with 221 or 332. 113 can be paired with 331 and so on. Contrary to this, the twisted blocks can only be paired with the similar blocks. Therefore 123 blocks can be paired with 123.
The name face refers to the smallest unit of computer-generated element in 3D modelling.
The slogan Analogue game for digital minds refers to the computer-generated virtual shapes can be translated to traditonal, tactile building blocks.
