How exactly do we maximize the volume of the box?

Use the red sliders labeled "l" and "w" to adjust the length and width of the cardboard. Use the orange slider labeled "x" to adjust the cut-size of each square. Toggle the pink button to display coordinates (x, V(x)). Toggle the green button the display the graph of V(x).

Can we express the dimensions of the box in terms of the cut size, x? Does there exist a function that represents the volume, V(x) in terms of x? Are there any restrictions on the domain of V(x)? Explain.
