Plane-Line Postulate

Postulate: If two points lie in a plane, then the line containing them lies in that same plane.

  1. Use the Toolbar Image tool to locate two points in the plane given in the Applet below.
  2. Then use the Toolbar Image tool to draw the line that contains the two points.
  3. Now use the Toolbar Image tool (click and hold) to rotate the plane around to see that the line is in the same plane as the points (not above nor below).
In the second applet below, use the Toolbar Image tool to plot two points that are NOT in the given plane. Then use the Toolbar Image tool to draw the line that contains these two points. Now use the Toolbar Image tool (click and hold) to see that your line is either above or below the plane. Finally use the Toolbar Image and the Toolbar Image tool to create the plane that contains the line you made from the previous steps.
