Extension Application problem (Open-ended): Resource Center

Your school district intends to establish a student resource center that will serve three of the highest-need high schools in the area. They have proposed many potential sites for this new structure, but must guarantee that it is easily accessible for all of the students from these schools.

Let A, B, and C represent the locations of three schools in your district on the coordinate plane. You may relocate the point G anywhere you choose.

Where should point G be for the resource center to be equidistant from the three schools?  Show your calculations and justify your answer algebraically.
