construction with cells

As following drawing by Fatin Uluengin shows the layers of a muqarnas don't consist out of full blocks but out of different cells. These cellen are standing with there back walls upon the top edge of cells of the previous layer. By doing this a vault is constructed. The variety and the evolution of muqarnas is in the desing of the plan and the choice of the plane figures that define these cells.

We illustrate this practice in an basic example with 4 layers. Follow stepwise the construction with the buttons in the navigation bar. Then show the vertical rising of the muqarnas clicking on the colored buttons in the applet.
