Woodwork concrete - Team A
Get back to the matches and your half-timber model. Expand the model to three storeys. Write down here how many beams are needed for a 1-storey model, a 2-storey model and a 3-storey model and have a close look at the numbers. Write down what you regularities you discover.
To expand a half-timber model from 2 to 3 storeys, ______ additional beams are needed.
To expand a half-timber model from 3 to 4 storeys, ______ additional beams are needed.
With 55 storeys one can build a half-timber model with ______ storeys.
Half-Timber
Tick the box "Animation" in the simulation Half-Timber and determine the beams needed for a 4 and 5 storey model. Create the trend line and check with it your estimation from task no. 56 (the model in task no. 56 had 7 storeys). Describe your approach.
Now vary the number of storeys in the animation of simulation Half-Timber and observe the number of beams that have to be added for each additional storey. Develop a more general rule for this and start of with a general calculation for the number of beams.
Now check your pairing with the beams from task no. 59. Was your partner for the nails correlation correct? In case you did not chose the pair cubes/beams write down a revision.
