Same Stats, Different Graphs
Same Stats, Different Graphs
In 2017, Autodesk published the dataset "Same Stats, Different Graphs", showing how different distributions can share the same basic statistics but have completely different shapes. Inspired by this work, I created a GeoGebra application that animates the transition between these figures, visually demonstrating how data can tell very different stories depending on how they are represented.
Why does this matter?
Relying only on numerical statistics can be misleading. Data visualization is key to understanding patterns, spotting anomalies, and making better decisions. This animation helps illustrate that in an interactive and educational way.
