Cross Sections of Triangular Prisms
Cross Section: The intersection of a plane with a 3D figure. This can be thought of as the surface or shape that would be exposed if cutting through the 3D figure.
Cross sections tend to be horizontal or vertical and form 90-degree angles with one or more faces of the figure, but we will also use the term diagonal cross section to represent the intersection of the plane with the 3D figure from other angles.

Directions: Move the sliders to explore the shapes that are created where the plane intersects the rectangular prism. The second slider can be used to view the horizontal cross section (when the slider is moved all the way to the left), the vertical cross section (when the slider is moved all the way to the right), and the diagonal cross sections (when the slider is anywhere in between).
