What do you notice about the figure as we change the divisor?

Can you describe what makes a number even? Can you describe what makes a number odd?

Can you describe some odd numbers that divide evenly into other numbers? Hint: 7

Can you see a pattern or shape in each grouping of dots? If so, which shapes did you see?

Greatest Common Factors

Lets say this is a Hershey's Chocolate bar. The height of the candy bar (distance from the top to bottom) is a factor of its width (distance from the left to right) What do you notice when you drag the red bar to divide the chocolate bar? What happens if the number you choose is not listed as a common factor?

Least Common Multiple

Why do you think some numbers like 5, 7 and 13 have a big Least Common Multiple like 413 but other numbers like 3, 5 and 9 have smaller least common multiples like 45?
