Pythagorean Theorem

The sum of the areas of the two squares on the legs (a and b) equals the area of the square on the hypotenuse (c).
- Given a right triangle - Draw a square of size , and on the respective sides of the triangle - If you add the areas of the two small squares and , you will receive the larger square, - Thus by the Pythagorean theorem the square on the side opposite the right angle equals the sum of the squares of the sides in contact with the right angle.
