Orbital trajectory of a planet and a satellite according to a star in 3D

Parameter information

  • ap : semi-major axis of the orbit of the planet
  • ep : orbital eccentricity of the planet
  • p : ascending node of the planet's orbit
  • p : orbital inclination of the planet's orbit
  • p : argument of periapsis of the planet's orbit
  • p : direction of rotation of the planet
  • s : direction of rotation of the satellite
  • as : semi-major axis of the orbit of the satellite
  • es : orbital eccentricity of the satellite
  • s : ascending node of the satellite's orbit
  • s : orbital inclination of the satellite's orbit
  • s : argument of periapsis of the satellite's orbit
  • j : number of periods of the satellite for one period of the planet
  • v : speed control
  • t : time parameter
By activating the “Animation” boolean, you can observe the movement of the planet and its satellite.
In this project, it is possible to visualize what the orbit would be and what displacements a planet and its satellite would have according to their star by varying different parameters, as a function of time. And all of this in three dimensions !
