Mean, Median or Mode?

Mean, median and mode are called measures of central tendency because in general their values tend to be near the center of the distribution. These "measures" also describe the magnitude of data using a single value, instead of the whole dataset. What Is That Segment?

When at least two distinct points are in the dot plot, a segment on the number line appears. What do the length and endpoints of that segment mean for the distribution? Move the points in the dot plot and try to obtain the longest segment possible. Is the length of the segment influenced by the points in the middle of the distribution?
