Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol

Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol is the former chamber for the House of Representatives.  After he was President, John Quincy Adams was a Representative in the House from Massachusetts.  The legend is that John Quincy Adams used the acoustics of this room to listen to his rival party’s conversation while he pretended to sleep. His desk was a one focal point, and the leader of the other party’s desk was at the other.
