Alg I: Solving Abs Value Eq |x - b| = c

Still stuck? Here's an example problem: |x- -4|=10 This is telling us that the expression (x- -4) gives us a value that is 10 units away from -4. That means it can either end up at 10 or -10. So, x- -4 = 10 or x- -4=-10 That means, x+4 = 10 or x+4=-10 Which tells us that x=6 or x=-14
