Area of a Quadrilateral
Use Right Triangles to Prove Area
1. Divide the quadrilateral into right triangles.
2. Find the area of each right triangle.
3. Use the information in #2 to prove the area of Quad ABCD.
4. Explain why the transformation Quad A'B'C'D' would have the same area when rotated 180 degrees
about point D. Show work if necessary to support your explanation.
5. Experiment with different angles of rotation to prove the area will not change.
