Friday Mosque Isfahan northwest iwan - parts
The muqarnas of the northwest iwan of the Friday Mosque of Isfahan are realised in two parts. In the front part (top of the drawing) you can see half a 10-pointed star. Below you can see a pentagon. At first sight you don't recognise this pentagon on the photograph because the front edge of the pentagon is on a higher level than the others and vertical lines disappear in the 2D-projection.
Note that the plan doesn't show a classical 4-folded symmetry, but a 5-folded. This implicates other shapes are used. Mainly below in the drawing (at the back on the photograph) shapes are used very freely including irregular shapes.
