Conchoid of Nicomedes

The Conchoid of Nicomedes has the ability to solve problems of angle trisection, cube duplication, and more. In Cartesian coordinates, the Conchoid of Nicomedes is written: (x-a)^2(x^2+y^2)=b^2x^2. To use this curve, you can move the yellow diamonds which will adjust the curve. Moving point A will change the size of the Conchoid, point B changes the size of the circle, point C changes the angle and direction of vector u, and points D and E changes the direction of line a. Press play to watch the Conchoid in action!
