Second Pythagorean Theorem Proof
Task
For this task, you will be exploring another visual proof of the Pythagorean Theorem, of which was discovered by none other than President James A. Garfield in 1876! On your paper, write down the expressions and equations that you use in terms of a, b, and c. Assume all of the triangles are already right triangles. Make sure that what you write down in your proof is clear and is able to be read and understood by another.
Hint: Start by arranging the polygons into a trapezoid, find its area, and work from there!
