Naming Pyramids and Cones

Base of a Pyramid: The side that the pyramid is named for. All other sides are triangles and connect at one point. In the case that all sides of the pyramid are triangles, any of them can be the base. Most of the time, you will see a pyramid sitting on its base. Base of a Cone: The base of a cone is always a circle. Pyramids and cones have one base. They are named using the shape of their base. Directions: Use your mouse to move the figures below and identify the shape of their bases. Then fill in the top two-thirds of the second page of your notes template for this lesson.
