Creating a Slider

Step 1: Create an equation using sliders
  • Click on the slider tool in the toolbar.
  • Dynamic Equation:
    • Create two sliders (named a and b) with the following settings:
Number, Min: -5, Max: 5, Increment: 0.1
  • In Input, Write equation y = a*x + b
  • Move sliders to see how Equation changes

Using Dynamic Text

Step 2: Using Dynamic Text
  • Click on the slider tool to open the menu with the textbox and choose the Text feature
  • Click anywhere in the graphics view to create a textbox.
  • Click on the "Advanced"  arrow to open up the advanced menu.
  • Select the GeoGebra icon to see the objects you have created in GeoGebra.
  • In the advanced menu, you should see an (empty box), the two sliders created (a and b), and the function (f). Click on the function, f, to create a dynamic textbox that will display your equation.
  • Once you select the f, you will see a box appear above with an f in it. Press "OK" to create the textbox.
  • Move the sliders to see how the textbox equation changes with the line.

Creating a Checkbox

Step 3: Creating a Checkbox
  • Click on the slider tool to open the menu with the checkbox tool and choose Check Box feature.
  • Click anywhere on the screen to create the check box.
  • Call the check box "Show Equation." Then, in the drop down menu, choose Text text1: ""+ f +"" from the menu.
  • Press "OK" to create the check box.
  • Uncheck and check the box to see how the equation disappears or re-appears.
