Kayseri - Sahibiye madrassa

The Sahibiye medrassa in Kayseri dates from 1267. In next applet you can follow stepwise the construction of the plan.
Looking at the drawing of Shiro Takahashi, we ca see two zones.
  • Around the apex of the muqarnas we see a 8:2 ster, surrounded by squares. Around them there are rhombuses (devided into small bipeds and almonds) and squares (devided into large bipeds and jugs).
  • In the outer zone two irregular 5-pointed stars are created, surrounded by almost-squares and almost-rhombuses. In the center of the 5-pointed stars two pentagons appear, of which we can expect to form a short stalactite.
