This quiz ask you to identify whether a selected point is a minimum, maximum or neither. The selected point is highlighted with an orange circle. The value may be a global minimum or maximum, in which case you should select global. All functions will have a limited domain. End points are marked open or closed with hollow or filled circles respectively. Interior minimums and maximums are marked with magenta plus symbols.
When you finish (run out of time or obtain sufficient correct solutions) a popup will show your results. Time Remaining is only an indicator and may not be accurate, but the result time should be accurate. Since the functions are random it may be difficult to identify the correct solution so the value of all of the points is also shown numerically as well as the location of the selected point.
Note: Sometimes after selecting a response it may take some time before the next question will appear. Do not click your choice again if the time remaining indicator has stopped.
