Linear motion - Overtaking process

A truck starts on the highway in St. Pölten and drives with 80 km/h in the direction of Salzburg. At the same time, a car in Vienna, which is 60 km from St. Pölten, starts driving with 130 km/h in the direction of Salzburg.
Edited version of the dynamic worksheet "Bewegungsaufgabe PKW - LKW" created by Andreas Lindner (see https://ggbm.at/f38wgGJp) (a) Play the animation in the upper window and describe your observations. (b) Click on "show" in the graphics window below and play the animation. Discuss the representation in the path-time diagram. The following questions may be helpful: • What happens at the intersection point of the two straight lines? • How can you read the distance traveled by both vehicles off the diagram? • How can you read the speed of both vehicles off the diagram? (c) Change the speed of the car and the truck. How does the representation in the path-time diagram change? What happens when both vehicles drive with same speed? (d) Change the speed of the truck to 90 km/h and that of the car to 120 km/h. How does this affect the representation in the path-time diagram? When and where does the car pass the truck now?
