Elasticity

Solids are elastic.  I don't just mean springs or metal, but also things like glass and concrete.  All solids, if pushed too far will deform or fracture, but within a range that varies based on the specific material, they are all elastic.  If glass doesn't strike you as being elastic, take a look at the video below. 

Wine Glass Resonance

It took quite a lot of distortion to make the wine glass break.  That is clear evidence that it is elastic.  What about concrete?  If you haven't ever watched the famous video of the Tacoma (Washington) narrows bridge collapse of 1940, you need to see just how much concrete will bend and twist before fracture eventually occurs.  Check out this video:
