Combining functions; shifting and scaling graphs

This interactive figure will display graphs of four main parent functions:
  • The parent absolute value function
  • The parent quadratic function
  • The parent cubic function
  • The parent square root function
The graphs of each of the parent functions are dashed. Suppose f is the function whose graph is displayed. The dashed graph (soon-to-appear) is the graph of the parent function of f. You can modify specific parameters of this equation using the sliders.
