Extending the Area of a Triangle

Once the attached activity is completed, you will use the applet to determine a formula that allows you to find the area of the triangles from this activity.
1) Move point K only. How does this movement impact the area of the triangle? Return point K to 0.
2) Now move only point J. How does this movement impact the area of the triangle? Return point J back to 0.
3) Now move points J and K.
** How does the area change if both movements are positive?
** How does the area change if both movements are negative?
** How does the area change if you have one positive & one negative movement?
4) Try to establish a rule that will allow you to determine the change in area of a triangle when given the 2 movements?
