Dilating a Fish
Move the slider to change the scale factor of the dilation.
Move point P to change the center of the dilation.
Move points A and B to see how dilation works on points on the fish.
The blue fish (with points A and B) is the original, and the red fish (points A' and B') is the dilated copy.
Dilation can be done to any figure, not just polygons.
Dilation stretches (or shrinks) all points outwards (or inwards) from the center point.
See Dilating a Triangle at GeoGebraTube (http://ggbtu.be/m2742017) to see what dilation does to lengths.
